Amylase, Catalase and Invertase Enzyme Labs Essays - Nutrition

Amylase, Catalase and Invertase Enzyme Labs Essays - Nutrition Amylase, Catalase and Invertase Enzyme Labs IB Biology SL Y1 22 April 2014 Amylase, Catalase and Invertase Enzyme Labs Presentation Catalase Catalase is answerable for changing over hydrogen peroxide1, which is unsafe inside living beings, into water and oxygen particles. This analysis researches the impact of hydrogen peroxide on bubbled and crude materials, for example, potatoes, liver, yeast cells, and so forth. Whenever bubbled materials were placed into hydrogen peroxide, there would be no huge enzymatic response on the grounds that the bubbling temperature would as of now denature catalase in those materials, keeping any chemicals from working appropriately. Invertase Sucrose is hydrolyzed into monosaccharide type of fructose and glucose by invertase that catalyzes the hydrolysis1. Invertase can be gotten from yeast, which will be utilized in this analysis. The yeast suspension arrangement will demonstrate positive outcome to Benedicts arrangement test that shows the nearness of sugar. Amylase Amylase is a protein that separates starch into glucose through the procedure of hydrolysis2. It starts the breakdown of starch to glucose in seeds during germination. To distinguish the nearness of starch, iodine test will be utilized. On the off chance that the outcome shows no shading change into profound purple, that demonstrates the nonattendance of starch and suggests the nearness of glucose that is separated from starch. Bubbled corn seeds would show least measure of shading change in agar plate (from dim purple into straightforward) in light of the fact that the high temperature would have just denatured amylase in seeds. Point of analysis These three catalyst tests expect to explore every chemical job in breaking macromolecules into straightforward particles of littler units. In general, there were little specks and enormous patches of dull blackish purple shading on agar plate. Bubbled seedsNo enormous patches of dim shading, aside from comparable small specks that were everywhere throughout the agars surface. There were straightforward spots where seeds were set. Dry seedsTraces of dull blackish purple shading encompassed the regions where corn seeds were set (straightforward). Agar plate was loaded up with small dark dabs. Agar plate had the darkest shade of shading contrasted with the rest. End Catalase lab The concentrates that were tested to examine the enzymatic response of catalase on hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) included liver, corn leaf, ground meat, yeast, and potato. All the bubbled concentrates of these materials yielded no evident enzymatic response when tried with H2O2. This demonstrates how temperature, which is one of the elements that can affect enzymatic response, is liable for synthetic responses not occurring. Catalase in these materials were bubbled at 100, clearly it surpassed every one of their ideal temperature. Thusly, catalase inside every material was denatured and not ready to play out its capacity appropriately when tried with H2O2. Then again, all the crude concentrates responded to H2O2 at various degrees. Catalase in liver and ground meat separates made evident responses H2O2 while catalase in corn lead, yeast, and potato removes made less clear enzymatic response to H2O2. Their disparities in measure of response may be clarified by different factors, for exampl e, how pH level in crude meat and liver might be nearer to the ideal pH level for catalase to catalyze. Invertase lab This lab includes watching impacts of adding yeast and refined water to sucrose arrangement, which is a case of disaccharide. Regardless of the poor capacity of glucose strips to show glucoses nearness, the utilization of Benedicts arrangement permitted progressively solid confirmation of glucoses nearness

How to Prove the Complement Rule in Probability

Step by step instructions to Prove the Complement Rule in Probability A few hypotheses in likelihood can be derived from the sayings of likelihood. These hypotheses can be applied to figure probabilities that we may want to know. One such outcome is known as the supplement rule. This announcement permits us to figure the likelihood of an occasion A by knowing the likelihood of the supplement AC. In the wake of expressing the supplement rule, we will perceive how this outcome can be demonstrated. The Complement Rule The supplement of the occasion An is meant by AC. The supplement of An is the arrangement of all components in the widespread set, or test space S, that are not components of the set A. The supplement rule is communicated by the accompanying condition: P(AC) 1 †P(A) Here we see that the likelihood of an occasion and the likelihood of its supplement must entirety to 1. Verification of the Complement Rule To demonstrate the supplement rule, we start with the adages of likelihood. These announcements are expected without evidence. We will see that they can be deliberately used to demonstrate our announcement concerning the likelihood of the supplement of an occasion. The principal saying of likelihood is that the likelihood of any occasion is a nonnegative genuine number. The second aphorism of likelihood is that the likelihood of the whole example space S is one. Emblematically we compose P(S) 1.The third adage of likelihood expresses that If An and B are fundamentally unrelated ( implying that they have an unfilled convergence), at that point we express the likelihood of the association of these occasions as P(A U B ) P(A) P(B). For the supplement rule, we won't have to utilize the main adage in the rundown above. To demonstrate our announcement we consider the occasions Aand AC. From set hypothesis, we realize that these two sets have void crossing point. This is on the grounds that a component can't all the while be in both An and not in A. Since there is an unfilled crossing point, these two sets are totally unrelated. The association of the two occasions An and AC are likewise significant. These establish thorough occasions, implying that the association of these occasions is the entirety of the example space S. These realities, joined with the aphorisms give us the condition 1 P(S) P(A U AC) P(A) P(AC) . The main correspondence is because of the second likelihood adage. The subsequent correspondence is on the grounds that the occasions An and AC are comprehensive. The third equity is a direct result of the third likelihood adage. The above condition can be improved into the structure that we expressed previously. All that we should do is take away the likelihood of A from the two sides of the condition. In this way 1 P(A) P(AC) turns into the condition P(AC) 1 †P(A). Obviously, we could likewise communicate the standard by expressing that: P(A) 1 †P(AC). Every one of the three of these conditions are equal methods of saying something very similar. We see from this confirmation how only two adages and some set hypothesis go far to assist us with demonstrating new explanations concerning likelihood.

Essay Conclusion †How to Write It Properly

Essay Conclusion How to Write It Properly We have all written an essay at some point in life. For those still studying, essays are pretty much a way of life. An integral part of each essay is the conclusion. Like the introduction and body sections, the conclusion plays an important part not only in the structure, but also the flow of the essay. It would however, not be a surprise if most of us don’t understand the importance of a conclusion. This article of essay help service will explain why this section is so important and why each essay must feature it. But before that, let us begin by understanding what it really is. [short_code_type_1] What is a conclusion? Simply put, a conclusion is the final paragraph of an essay. It finalizes your essay by summing up your arguments or main points as mentioned in the essay. It therefore ties together your essay and reaffirms your stand. Purpose of a conclusion A conclusion is literally your last chance to make an impression to your reader. Unlike the introduction and body sections where you have the opportunity to explain your points at length, the conclusion only allows for a summary of your strongest points. As such, no new ideas should be introduced in the conclusion. [short_code_type_2] This section of an essay is meant to achieve three main objectives: Restate your thesis and main ideas: The first sentence of the conclusion usually repeats your thesis. This does not mean copying it word for word, but rewording it in a way that reflects your stand. Summarize the main argument or points: Restating the thesis is then followed by a reiteration of the main points and ideas in the essay as a way of reminding the reader what the essay was about. This should bring to alignment all your conflicting arguments and help the reader see the big picture. Create an interesting final impression: Finally, the essay should leave your reader interested in what you have to say. It should also provide closure and a sense of possibilities in the covered topic. This positions you as an essay writer and thinker.

Complexities of Parallelism - Part I

Parallelism is one of the most common errors tested on GMAT, and debatably, one of the most tricky too! At times, due to the complexity of the sentence, we may not realise that elements should be in parallel; at others we may not realise that they should NOT be in parallel! (discussed in a previous post) We see parallelism in many cases in GMAT. Some of them are: A list of elements Co-ordinating and correlative conjunctions such as â€Å"and†, â€Å"but†, â€Å"both †¦ and†¦Ã¢â‚¬ , â€Å"either †¦ or†¦Ã¢â‚¬ etc Stating a comparison such as â€Å"compared to A, B† Idioms involving elements in parallel such as â€Å"consider A B† On the face of it, it seems quite simple and straight forward all acting verbs or all nouns etc, but if a GMAT question focusses on it, it is bound to be more complicated than that. Parallelism depends on both, the form and the function of the words. Also, it is important to decipher the logic of the sentence should the elements be in parallel in the first place? If yes, then which elements should be in parallel? We also need to worry about when to repeat a particular word in all parallel elements and when not to. We know the thumb rule either repeat in all or use only once in the beginning. But when is it a good idea to repeat the word in all elements? Yes, it isn’t that simple after all! But let’s answer all these questions using a couple of examples. Question 1: It is no surprise that Riyadh, the Saudi capital where people revere birds of prey and ride camels regularly, is home to the worlds largest hospital for falcons, a place where falcons from all over the world are treated in operating rooms,  an ophthalmology department, and a pox area, and to the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for.   (A) an ophthalmology department, and a pox area, and to the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for.   (B) an ophthalmology department, a pox area, and the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for.   (C) an ophthalmology department, to a pox area, and to the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for.   (D) to an ophthalmology department, and to a pox area and the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for.   (E) an ophthalmology department and a pox area, and the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for. Solution: There are lots of commas and lots of different elements in the sentence. Logically, we see that Riyadh is home to the largest hospital for falcons and to the veterinary clinic for desert mammals. It can’t be home to operating rooms,  an ophthalmology department, and a pox area! These are places inside a hospital! So then, here is the structure of the sentence: It is no surprise that Riyadh, †¦, is home to A and to B. A and B should be in parallel. Within A, we have a list of elements too. A the worlds largest hospital for falcons, a place where falcons from all over the world are treated in X, Y and Z X operating rooms Y an ophthalmology department Z a pox area B the largest veterinary clinic for desert mammals, a place where camels and other desert species are expertly cared for Therefore, to show parallelism between A and B, we have used â€Å"to† with both to show the beginning of the parallel elements. This separates them from the other set of parallel elements X, Y and Z. Note that only option (A) satisfies these conditions and hence is the correct answer here. Takeaways The first thing to do is to figure out the logic of the sentence to see which elements should be in parallel and which shouldn’t. After that, put those that need to be in parallel. We might need to repeat certain words to signal the start of parallel elements when we have other intertwined lists too. We will leave you with a question now. We will discuss it in detail in our next post. Question 2: Geologists believe that the warning signs for a major earthquake may include sudden fluctuations in local seismic activity, tilting and other deformations of the Earths crust, changing the measured strain across a fault zone, and varying the electrical properties of underground rocks. (A) changing the measured strain across a fault zone, and varying (B) changing measurements of the strain across a fault zone, and varying (C) changing the strain as measured across a fault zone, and variations of (D) changes in the measured strain across a fault zone, and variations in (E) changes in measurements of the strain across a fault zone, and variations among Getting ready to take the GMAT? What Is a Neutron

The neutron is the particle in the atomic nucleus with a mass 1 and charge 0. Neutrons are found together with protons in the atomic nucleus. The number of neutrons in an atom determines its isotope. Although a neutron has a net neutral electrical charge, it does consist of charged components which cancel each other out with respect to charge. Neutron Facts A neutron is a type of hadron. It consists of one up quark and two down quarks.Although the mass of a proton and a neutron are comparable, especially compared with the much lighter electron, a neutron is slightly more massive than a proton. A neutron has a mass of 1.67492729 x 10-27 kg.A neutron is considered a type of fermion because it has a spin 1/2.Although its possible to eject neutrons from the nucleus, the free particles dont last long before reacting with other atoms. On average, a neutron survives on its own about 15 minutes.

The American Civil Right Movement - 922 Words

It was just a single line in a speech given more than fifty years ago, yet many still remember it as one of the most important turning points in Southern political history and the American civil right movement. As many civil rights activists were fighting for the abolishment of Jim Crow laws, newly elected Governor George Wallace stood at the podium under the Alabama State House to deliver his inaugural speech which would later cement his legacy amongst the most controversial figures in Southern history. His infamous line, â€Å"segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever†, represents the pinnacle of the southern struggle between pride and blame (Wallace). Female Gable Figure Dilukai, 19th early 20th century; Belauan Wood, paint, Kaolin Chinese Clay Essay Example For Students

Female Gable Figure Dilukai, 19th early 20th century; Belauan Wood, paint, Kaolin Chinese Clay Essay The piece of work I selected caught my attention as soon as I set eyes on it. It is Female Gable Figure Dilukai a 25 2/3-inch high wooden figure of a nude woman with her legs straddled. The piece seemed to be very crudely done. It appeared to be chiseled, very abstracted and very unrealistic. Her hair appears to be in a bun, her face has no expression. The arms that lead down to her knees and upper torso look detachable. The breasts are triangular and the left breast is lopsided. There is also an additional piece of wood around the lower part of the left arm. The legs are apart and the under half of the leg in a darker color. The womans exposed genitals are represented by a large dark colored triangle. The artist carved the womans vagina in vivid detail leading me to believe this sculpture was used for some sexual purpose. The figure appears on a wall in the museum however, due to the name of the piece I imagine this piece would have been mounted over the door of a building. I had two reactions to this piece. When I first saw this piece, it got me upset. Upset in that I did not believe someone would actually look at a woman and think that a sculpture like this one would be a good idea. I immediately thought this artist has no respect for women or a womans body. Then I found it somewhat funny and ironic that although I found this piece upsetting it was one of the few pieces that caught my attention. I found myself wanting to know more about this piece and the reason behind its existence. Thus making it the piece, I would write this paper on. My response to this piece came from my thinking that whoever did this sculpture must not have thought very highly of the woman this piece is representing. To think the artist took his/her time to carve every detail of a females vagina and not pay much attention to the rest of the womans body got me a little upset. However, after reading what this piece was originally used for and the story behind it I looked at it differently. I still cannot view this piece as fine art but I accept what its original purpose was.

International Financial Reporting Standards Professional Accountancy

Question: Discuss about the International Financial Reporting Standards for Professional Accountancy. Answer: Introduction: Investigate and Write a Brief History of the IFRS The professional accountancy bodies from the UK, the US and Canada made the firsts move in the area of convergence of accounting standard in 1966 and proposed the creation of the Accountant international study group (AISG). The rationale behind this move is to design comparative analysis in the three nations with respect to the accounting and auditing practices. The AISG released 20 comparative analysis reports till 1977 when it was disbanded (Barth et al., 2006). At the 40th World congress of Accountants held in 1972 in Sydney Sir Henry Benson proposed the formation of IASC (International accounting standard committee). One of the three AISG countries discussed and signed the approval and supported by the members of the specialized bodies of accountancy in Germany, France, Mexico, Australia, the Netherlands and Japan the International accounting standard committee (IASC) was founded in 1973 (Barth et al., 2006).The first chairman elected was Sir Henry Benson and Sir Paul Rosenfield was appointed as the primary secretary in the new organization. In only one of the nine original International accounting standard committee (IASC) countries only Germany, a relatively few of the registered business applied IASs in presenting statement to domestic investors. The chief objective of the International accounting standard committee (IASC) establishment aims to design a common set of premium standards for global accounting to substitute the accounting norms nationally (Irvine, and Lucas, 2006). The International accounting standard committee (IASC) issued 41 standards between 1973 and 2001 before it was reinstated by the international accounting standard board .It was consented by the EC to implement IASs or IFRS (international financial reporting standards) for all registered business in Germany, the UK France, and Netherlands along with remaining twenty one member countries by 2005 (Irvine, and Lucas, 2006). The government of Australia and standard setter had undertaken the adoption policy related with IAS by the year 2005.The roadmap for adoption policy set by The US is 2014 to 2016. The convergence with IFRS (international financial reporting standards) is also considered by Japan and Canada. In 2002 a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed by FASB (financial accounting standard board) of US and the international accounting standard board (IASB) with regard to US GAAP and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).In the agreement of Norwalk pledge was undertaken by both financial accounting standard board (FASB) and international accounting standard board (IASB) to jointly work for the development of accounting standards that provides high quality and compatible both in the domestic accounting and cross border reporting of financial aspect. There is an argument that the changes implemented in the US GAAP can have an implication on the international business accounting environment. Gannon and Ashwal (20004), make an argument that the endeavour of the financial accounting standard board (FASB) and IASB (international accounting standard board) have changed accounting process in respect to the US GAAP and more changes are projected as the difference between th e international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and US GAAP continues to narrow. In the recent past many countries both developed and developing implemented the international financial reporting standards (IFRS) with respect to the accounting and financial reporting. The lead taken by European Union (EU) since 2005 made it mandatory for all listed companies who are members of EU to implement and start adapting to IFRS in reporting. Almost 120 counties have implemented or converged with IFRS across the globe (Ball, 2001). International financial reporting standards (IFRS) are global accounting practice that is gaining acceptance across the globe rapidly. IFRSs are more oriented by the principle and objectives. They are based on the concept that the rules followed by then would have universal application and can be used by public companies worldwide to conduct their financial reporting. The implementation of IFRSs as formulated by IASB (international accounting standards board) is anticipated to lead to the appliance of universal set of standards related with finan cial reporting involving member of European countries and other member countries that have adapted to IFRSs. Nevertheless comparability is not likely to happen from the adoption of IFRSs (Ball, 2001). Thus it can be stated that internationalization and globalization will result in the reduction of much of the differences in the rules and application of accounting across countries, it will result in elimination of it and it is not expected to do that. Ball (2006) states the view that implementation of IFRSs will unlikely to be same and it may impact the perception and reporting of IFRS quality on the part of accounting professionals. According to Sunder (2010) there are six element of decision process for countries willing to implement the international financial reporting standards (IFRS). They are making contribution to wealth and prosperity of the community, relevant information included from all component of economy, long term steadiness, adjusting to alteration in the fiscal atmosphere, vigorousness against manipulation and confrontation to capture by tapered interest group (Bhattacharjee, 2009). The argument and debate of implementing IFRS is not limited ot the cost and benefit but it also is related with the implication of global financial reporting in case of the modification of IFRS as a outcome of the process of adoption. There is also concern in context to the varied version of IRFS and the difference in the implementation process apart from the IFRS present in label merely. The implementation and adoption of the IFRS in the European union and other 120 nation is confronted with a range of constraints for the implementing nation which are considering the implementation or confronted with the issues of deciding on when, how and why to go for the implementation of the IFRS system (Bhattacharjee, 2009). In this regard the benefit of IFRS can help them and it include greater comprehension and transparency of the financial report, reducing the cost of capital for the business and increasing the price of the shares based on the higher investor confidence and information transparency, reduction of standard setting cost nationally, regulation of securities market easily, financial data across borders and accessories opportunities related with investment can be compared easily, enhanced credibility of local markets to FDI clientele and potential partners considering merger and acquisition deal and potential lenders related with the financial statements of business entity in developing countries. Nigerias Current Accounting Regulatory Framework and its Progress Towards Standardising on IFRS The international monetary fund, the world bank, the G8 and G7countries, international organization of security commission (IOSCO), the United Nations (UN), the organization for economic co-operation and development (OECD), Finance ministers and central bank governors, and Basel committee on banking supervision in the international front have recommended the implementation of IAS or universal global set of accounting standards globally (Winney et al., 2010). In 200 the US SEC concept published on the IAS also promoted the convergence of quality global reporting of financial framework globally that will improve the strength of capital markets. In this regard the EU identified in the year 2002 a universal set of financial norms as a crucial support in developing a money market unity in European country. In the domestic market many countries and government along with tax regulator prefer a global accounting practice to monitor and tax the business entity conducting operation within the ir boundaries. In the context of Nigeria the convergence was initiated by the government of Nigeria in 2012 was supported by Nigerian accounting standard board (NASB) that has renamed as financial reporting council (FRC), Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Nigerian stock exchange (Winney et al., 2010). Generally the accounting and disclosure system of a country is crucial to the fiscal system and financial environment of the economy. This is guided by the contracting and informational requirement of the major stakeholder in the country and its function in the capital market and corporate governance. As the book-keeping method is corresponding to other aspect in the corporate structure, a match among them is obvious what outcome in various book-keeping method and financial management across different nation (Tarca, 2004). The corporate structure has implication over the structure and approach of accounting method and the application of global accounting standards. The requirement of Stock exchange is an integral part of the corporate framework and has direct implication on the application of international accounting system. The other implication includes foreign exchange choice of the company and the kind of disclosure. The listing of companies over the border create the need for IF RS reporting very essential for business entity with listing in stock exchange based on the jurisdiction related with IFRS. Convergence, Harmonization and Adoption of IFRS and its Clarification The harmonization process related with international financial system and followed by the process of convergence process in the 90s with respect to IFRS is concerned with the globalization of the wealth and financial market. In practice in it agreed that book-keeping and financial harmonization is essential for the globalization of wealth and financial markets. Financier in the capital and financial market now get opportunities to invest across the globe. Many companies undertake expansion of business across the national borders consistently. Business entities are able to seek capital at the minimum cost anywhere. The capital and securities market are increasing trhe capital flow with cross border. Some of the largest stock exchanges in the world execute the merger discussion and business deal with the help of internet (Tarca, 2004). In this regard the major concern is financial report transparency that encourages lenders, investors and other parties to gather the financial data of t he companies and conduct comparative analysis from one company in one country with other in another country. In addition there is requirement to give financial data with reliability, relevancy and comprehensive to fulfil the investors needs and help them to compare performance and take decision related with buying, holding and selling enabled by the minimization of differences related with the accounting and financial report between different countries. The term harmonization can be defined as the settlement of various book-keeping and accounting method by arranging into one group with the objective of keeping the standard form whereas content exhibit differences significantly. Convergence can be defined as the concept of bringing or converging the international accounting standard prescribed by the IASB and present accounting standard prescribed by the setters of standard nationally with the objective of removing option in financial system for events and transaction. The core purpose of convergence process is to establish a universal set of high quality and consistent international accounting standard internally as prescribed by IASB and followed by all the setters of standard nationally. The requirement for international accounting standard convergence for global standard setters is done with below objectives Identifying the increasing importance of global accounting standard. To make sure that individual standard setter does not exercise monopoly with respect to the best solution to problems in accounting. To make sure that national standard setters is not in a position to gain acceptance globally to set accounting standards. To elucidate different aspect of fiscal reporting where the countrywide standard setters is not capable to act on their own. Convergence is an approach whereby standard setters from across the countries conduct healthy discussion related with the problems of accounting and come to joint agreement using the combined experience thereby taking right decision. Obazee (2007) emphasis that convergence can be undertaken by two ways and they re adoption promoting complete implementation of IASB accounting standard or adaptation promoting modification of IASB accounting standard to adjust to the domestic market and financial attributes without deviating from the book-keeping standard and disclosure principles of the IASBs accounting standard. Convergence was developed with the view to transport accounting standard such as US GAAP and IFRS and harmonize by bridging the distance by producing standards that are identical. Based on SEC(2010) IFRS adoption across the globe require two approaches and they are convergence approach and endorsement approach It divides jurisdiction not following the IFRS ADOPTION as stated b y the IASB as observing the convergence approach. They maintain their local accounting standard but taking measures to converge and follow IFRS in the course of time as exhibited by the case of China. On the other hand endorsement approach is related with jurisdiction promoting individual process of IFRS to match with the local standard as exhibited by the countries in the EU. The concept of adoption with respect to IFRS is related with the complete implementation or application of IFRS without any change in the practice (MARLBOROUGH, 2004). The process of convergence may support adoption based on a stipulated time frame but it is not replacement for the process of adoption. Thus it is recommended that countries should oppose the enticement of convergence approach and opt for complete adoption of IFRS. This approach is identified to have the highest impact on the reporting of accounting and financial function, provide improved transparency and the financial statement disclosure. Nev ertheless the distinct evidences of the financial implication related with the IFRS adoption process have been stated to be limited. Benefits of IFRS Adoption Thus the suggested process of adoption of IFRS process helps in better comprehension and transparency, cost reduction in capital to business and higher prices of shares based on the improved investors confidence and data transparency, national standard setting cost reduction, securities market regulation getting easier, financial data across national borders and accessories of opportunities of investment can be compared easily, reduction of standard setting cost nationally, regulation of securities market easily, financial data across borders and accessories opportunities related with investment can be compared easily, enhanced credibility of local markets to FDI clientele and potential partners considering merger and acquisition deal and potential lenders related with the financial statements of business entity in developing countries (MARLBOROUGH, 2004). In case of international business the process assist o meet the disclosure procedures of security exchange formalities across the world. The other benefits related with the adoption of IFRS the reduced exposure to political pressures compared to the national standards, guidance to local implementation based on local situation on consistent basis, and the attempt for raising the accounting standard to the optimum possible level of quality across the globe. The final market impact of the process of convergence is an application of two impacts. The first impact is the primary informational and it is if convergence process enable book-keeping quality positively or negatively (Nobes, and Zeff, 2008). The second impact is related with the acquisition expertise and it is of the investors gain expertise in international accounting and it is related with the cost factor of developing the needed expertise. Thus it can be stated ex ante final market impact related with the process of convergence is not certain. Thus based on the article Brexit is done, now what about accounting and the position of UK after the exit from European Union it is evident that the adoption of IFFR by Nigeria is useful measure in making the accounting and financial report in accordance with the international accounting system as prescribed by IASB (Nobes, and Zeff, 2008). The uncertain future of Britain in the light if Scotland and Northern Ireland seeking to leave Britain makes it is not the right choice. Thus Nigeria implementing the adoption of IFRS will help to facilitate capital flow across the globe and increase the interest of lenders and investors helping the economy of the country. The Threat Of Nuclear Weapons Essay Research free essay sample

The Threat Of Nuclear Weapons Essay, Research Paper Ever since the first atomic arm was built in 1945, atomic war has been a menace. The two major atomic powers in the universe today are the Soviet Union and the United States. If a war of all time broke out between the two, which involved the usage of atomic arms, the whole universe would endure from the effects. In this study I am traveling to turn out that atomic arms are a menace to all of us. A atomic arm is any device that causes an detonation by the release of the energy in an atom. They are much more powerful than any conventional or # 8220 ; non atomic # 8221 ; arms. Nuclear arms are divided into two groups: fission arms, which are frequently called atom bombs, and thermonuclear or merger arms, which are frequently called H bombs because that is what they are made of. FISSION WEAPONS Fission arms cause an detonation by the splitting of atomic karyon. We will write a custom essay sample on The Threat Of Nuclear Weapons Essay Research or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page This happens when a neutron collides with the karyon of an atom. The protons in the karyon are transformed into a great sum of energy and two or three more neutrons are sent out, which go on to divide other karyon. If this continues a procedure called a concatenation reaction will happen. When this happens a fission detonation is the consequence. To organize a concatenation reaction, a certain sum of stuff is needed. This sum is known as the critical mass. If the sum is excessively little it is known as a subcritical mass. The critical mass of a material depends on its pureness. The stuffs used in doing fission arms are uranium and Pu. They are the lone elements able to be used in doing a fission arm. There are two different ways to do a fission arm: the gun-type method and the implosion method. In the gun-type method, two pieces of stuff, each holding a subcritical mass, are placed at opposite terminals of a metal cylinder. One of the pieces has a powerful, nonnuclear explosive behind it that explodes on impact and drives the piece into the 1 at the other terminal. The atoms in the stuff the collide and get down a concatenation reaction. In the implosion method a ball of either uranium or Pu is surrounded by a big sum of nonnuclear explosive. When triggered it compresses the atomic stuff, which besides causes a concatenation reaction. FUSION WEAPONS Thermonuclear or merger arms get their destructive power from the combine of light atoms. Hydrogen, the lightest component, is used in doing merger arms. When the atoms of the component fuse, they release a great sum of energy. The lone job is that the vitamin E lement must be heated to a temperature of 50 million grades Celsius. The lone manner to make this, without utilizing more energy than is produced, is to utilize a fission detonation. So, a ball of H is surrounded by either U or Pu and so by a non atomic explosive. When the explosive is set off it causes the U or Pu to fission, which in bend causes the H to blend. History In 1939, the U.S. authorities became concerned that the Nazi Germans may be capable of constructing a atomic arm, so upon fall ining World War II, the United Sates began a secret operation called the Manhattan Undertaking to construct their ain atomic arm. The first experimental atomic arm was exploded on July 16,1945, by J. Robert Oppenheimer. It was a 22 kiloton implosion-type device. This trial convinced the U.S. authorities that atomic arms could be used in war. On August 6, 1945, the United States used the first atomic arm on the Nipponese metropolis of Hiroshima. It was a 13 kiloton gun-type fission bomb. Three yearss subsequently, the United States dropped a 22 kiloton implosion-type fission bomb on another Nipponese metropolis called Nagasaki. On August 14, eight yearss after the first bomb was dropped, the Nipponese surrendered, which brought an terminal to World War II. Effects The three chief effects that would follow a atomic detonation are blast, thermic radiation or heat, and radiation. The really first thing to go on is the formation of a bolide. The fireball gives off the thermal radiation that vaporizes anything within a one-fourth stat mi and ignites flammable stuffs within 10 stat mis. The thermic radiation can do oculus hurts every bit good as tegument Burnss called flash Burnss. Between 20 and 30 per cent of the deceases at Hiroshima and Nagasaki were caused by flash Burnss. When the bolide begins to disperse it signifiers a blast moving ridge that travels off from the detonation at velocities up to 400 stat mis per hr. This destroys most edifice within 6 stat mis. It besides kills most people within 3 stat mis and badly injures or kills most people up to 6 stat mis off. Then comes the radiation. It is made up of neutrons that were left over after the detonation. When these neutrons come in contact with populating cells they damage or even destruct them. A individual exposed to big sums of radiation will normally decease. Some scientists believe that the dust and fume from the fires after a atomic war would do a worldwide chilling of the planet, which is known as a atomic winter. For this ground, the states at war would non be the lone 1s to endure.

buy custom Advertisement for Hyundai Genesis 2015 essay Introduction The Hyundai Genesis 2015 is a complete masterpiece in comparison to the first generation Genesis. Its look is well-defined, and every shopper would get enticed to have a close look at this South Korean automobile (Wiesenfelder, 2014). This vehicle is an alternative to more expensive competitors. Since its introduction in 2009, the Hyundai Genesis was envisioned as a credible alternative to established luxury sedans from Lexus, Mercedes and BMW, among others (Wiesenfelder, 2014). However, it had a few shortcomings which have been solved in the 2015 model. The blunt nose with the winged Genesis logo make it look like a Bentley to some extent. The 2015 models improvements in various areas include new dampers, anti-roll bars, springs, sub-frame brushings, engine mounts, and calibration of the electric power steering (Wiesenfelder, 2014). The power steering in the new model utilises a rack-mounted motor. In the terms of performance, it offers six-cylinder (V6) and eight-cylinder (V8) powe r. The V8 uses a 5.0L, 420-horsepower engine, while the V6 has a 3.8L, 311-horsepower engine (2015 Genesis - Key Features, n.d.). Market Research/Consumers The vehicle targets the luxury market, currently controlled by such sedans as the BMW 5-series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Genesis 2015 offers as high-quality aspects as the market leaders, but it has a lower price. It targets the global market, especially high and middle-income consumers. Its focus is on the mid-luxury market. Although the Hyundai Genesis-series has not been in the market for long, its target consumers who can afford to part with a portion of their income to cover transportation costs. For a single person making $125,000 annually, it is possible to part with about 15% of their income to finance transportation costs (Howard, 2014). The car costs approximately $53,000, which is cheaper than most of the competitors in the market (Howar, 2014). Customer reviews indicate that the new technological additions to the Hyundai genesis 2015 are a plus. They also appraise its high-quality standards and its affordable price (Howard, 2014). SWOT Analysis The SWOT analysis of Hyundai Genesis 2015 relies on the performance of Hyundai Motor Company. However, as a model, the car has its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Strengths Strong Growing Brand. Since the introduction of the first model of the Hyundai Genesis in 2009, the brand has grown stronger with every new release. In addition, the company has introduced its brands in major markets such as the USA. Even as a late entrant, it has learned from other market players following the strategies of successful market players such as, Toyota. It is also avoiding the actions that have led to the decline of other companies such as Ford in the U.S. market, including unmonitored inefficiencies in production and resource management (Howard, 2014). Low Cost in the Implementation of New Technology. Other rival firms have invested a lot of funds in the discovery of new technology. Therefore, Hyundai can implement similar technology at a lower cost. This strength boosts the companys efficiency and market strength. It has enabled the Hyundai Genesis 2015 to have improved technology, such as enabling the driver to view the blind spots. Research and Development. Investment in research has led to the creation of automobiles which possess the features needed in the market at a cheaper price. This feature makes Hyundai Genesis 2015 strong in the market. The creators improved the characteristics of earlier models making them recognisable in the market. Weaknesses Low Brand Power and Brand Recognition. The company is a late entrant in major markets such as the USSA and Europe. As a result, its brand is shadowed by major market players such as Audi, Cadillac, BMW, and Mercedes. It makes it hard for Hyundai to grab a wide range of customers. Few Previous Buyers. Most consumers research about previous buyers of cars before purchasing. They assess the feedback from previous buyers. As a result of the small pool of previous buyers to offer feedback, some careful customers may hesitate to buy the 2015 model. Opportunities Increasing its Share in Target Markets. The brand can increase the companys shares in the market. According to the reviews provided by previous customers, the Hyundai Genesis 2015 is a suitable mid-luxury vehicle. It can increase its market share by improving its products and providing what the competitors fail to provide. Product Life Cycle Yet to reach Maturity. Since its inception in 2009, the Hyundai Genesis brand has not yet reached its maturity, unlike most competitors, who are already in the decline phase. Therefore, Hyundai can gain market share back from the declining companies. Technological Advancement. The company can utilise available technology to improve the current model. The company can modify its products and incorporate technology to satisfy consumer needs and increase its market share. Threats High Fuel Prices. Increase in the price of fuel is beyond the control of the company, but it reduces the ability of consumers to maintain a vehicle. Therefore, clients may not purchase the car due to high prices of fuel. Competition. Hyundai Genesis 2015 faces stiff competition from the well-established brands such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. The competitors have big market shares and customer loyalty. As a result, they can introduce cars with the features that the market needs so as to retain their market share. Smoking among college students Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Smoking among college students - Research Paper Example It is important to know the actual motives behind smoking before taking any kind of preventive action. Most of the people start smoking during their teenage due to peer pressure or need for approval by their friends. Some youngsters also believe that smoking actually helps them keep in shape and have self-control, while others say it makes them look cool. According to the statistical data, the rate of smoking has increased by 30 % during 1993-1997 amongst the college students. Studies show that the measures which can be taken by the colleges authorities in order to reduce the level of smoking amongst the young students. Experts believe that taking preventive measures is better than abrupt prohibition from smoking which can cause the opposite effect on the students. The high rate of smoking among college students can be explained by aggressive advertising and promotional activities aimed to increase the size of the market. The glamorous ads casting handsome and beautiful models, actually tempts the youngsters to smoke. Tobacco industry focuses on sales promotion more than any other industry in the world. Companies spend a huge amount of investment to reach adolescents. Adolescents, of 18-24 years, become the main target market for the tobacco industry. The companies distribute free cigarettes outside the concerts and college clubs in order to attract more and more people towards their brands. The industry has also involved the youngster in the promotional activities. These kinds of aggressive promotion activities have drawn a huge number of younger lots to smoking. Promotional activities in bars and night clubs were started during 1980s. The level of tobacco consumption among students was indistinct, but the some field researches show that nearly every college student was involved in those promotional activities during 1990s. It has been predicted that the college students will become main consumers of tobacco in the next few years. The tobacco companies launch their promotional campaign mostly in the urban localities, trying to trap the young consumers through various advertising medium and techniques. Even the students who don't have enough exposure to the bars and night clubs can be influenced by the heavy advertising by different brands. For instance, Asian American students have become the main target for many promotional campaigns aiming to find new customers. University Health Centers can help to prevent and reduce smoking rate by educating the students about the diseases caused by smoking. Smoking should also be strictly prohibited within the college premises. Psychologists have deduced the various ways to control smoking habits within the younger students by providing different psychological treatments for quitting smoking. They have also worked upon finding the relation between smoking and media exposure of the individuals. Further in their research works psychologists have also tried to analyze the factors which can contribute to motivate or de-motivate individuals from smoking. The previous studies have classified smokers by their age, gender and race and have provided the statistical data accordingly. The main theme of the paper is to examine the relation which exists between smoking and factors such as the peer pressure, stress and depression. METHODOLOGY

Reflective Journal Personal Statement Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words

Reflective Journal - Personal Statement Example This is reflective journal that I maintained throughout the last semester. I am a senior nurse working in a multispecialty hospital, where different aspects of nursing are embodied regularly during practice. I am senior nurse, so my work also included teaching a group in my field work. As is evident, this teaching session involved learning, and my job was also to learn in parallel. The audience was student and registered nurses, and during this semester, I also had to attend teaching sessions taken by other registered nurses. Therefore, it could be a dual process, where the teacher has bilateral opportunity to learn as a faculty as well as a student When I decided to keep this journal as a means for reflective practice, I was not very systematic in keeping regular notes. This perhaps happened due to the fact that I did not take reflective journaling very seriously. Now, while presenting it in the form an organized journal, I see that that would have been better to keep an organized n ote. As I allow the work to guide me, I see that it generates a conscious intention in me, and it becomes a contemplative practice. In this journal I would reflect upon this process of transition in me to examine how well I did my work, and what could have been done better to make my practice more fruitful. When I was intimated that I would be required to take teaching session on contagious diseases and method of prevention through isolation to a group of 20 people comprising of registered nurses and nursing students, I was immediately very nervous. As a registered nurse I am quite confident about the principles of infection prevention in our hospital, but knowing things and teaching things are different. This would be practice of learning, and the first question I asked to myself was, whether I was competent enough (Nursing Council of Hong Kong, 2004). This was an education programme designed to provide the nurses necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to practice in future in t heir respective roles. Those who were registered nurses and belonged to the group of students, this session would definitely need to be designed to refine their skills and update their knowledge. Ultimately, these educations would serve to contribute to the maintenance of high standards in practice delivering the best possible care. I questioned myself about whether it was necessary or not. It is true that this teaching would at least promote life-long learning in the constantly changing requirement of standards of service. This topic would definitely relevant to the leaning and practice needs of the group. The students are expected to undertake infectious diseases nursing following the completion of the course. Only thing I could not clearly saw was what would be taught and why that would be taught. It would need a curriculum model, and given the mixed nature of the group, learning would be seen as a change in the observable behaviour of the students in practice, but it should be a process. I understand that this programme would be much more focused on the development of understanding (Paterson, B.L. & Pratt, D.D., 2007). I decided that in my introduction to the training programme, I would highlight these points, so students may participate in a more active manner. Given the fact that I am a first-time teacher, I also made a note that I would familiarize myself with the curriculum design of the course. Week 2 The teaching should occur according to the learning needs of the students. I was not an educationist, but it was immediately very important for me to know and design the content of my course (Beitz, J. M., 1996). To be able to do that, I had to first examine the philosophy on which the curriculum would be based on. Moreover, it should need facilitation in a very careful manner to link with the feelings and thinking of the participant taking care of the practice relevance. The topic that has been assigned to me is relevant to practice, since infectious

The Flea - John Donne :: essays research papers

John Donne and an Analysis of "The Flea" John Donne was born on Bread Street, London, in 1572. His family was very rich but they were Roman Catholic, not the best group to be a part of at his time, in England. He studied three years at the University of Oxford and three years at Cambridge. He never got a degree because he refused to take the oath of supremacy at graduation time. He then studied law and was on his way to be a diplomat. He wrote a book of poems, Satires, after his brother died of fever in prison after offering sanctuary to a proscribed catholic priest. He then wrote a series of love poems in Songs and Sonnets. In 1596, he joined a naval campaign against Spain and when he came back, 2 years later, he became secretary to Sir Thomas Egerton. Just as he started doing well, he secretly married Egerton's niece, Anne More, and when discovered, he was thrown in jail along with the two friends who had helped in his secret relationship. Anne's family helped them and a few years later, Donne reconciliated with Sir Thomas and was finally given the dowry he was owed. He lived the next few years as a lawyer and lived a poor existence. He then wrote two anti-Catholic poems that got him the king's favor and started working Sir Robert Drury of Hawstead, who gave him an appartment in his castle for writing a beautiful eulogy for his 15 year old daughter. Donne and his wife had 12 children, 7 of which survived and in 1617, Anne died at age 33, while giving birth to a stillborn child. He wrote the Holy Sonnets. He was made vicar in 1625 but suffered from severe infections of the mouth which caused his death in 1931. He would've become a bishop in 1930. Before his death, he preached his own funeral sermon, Death's Duel. His last piece was The Hymn to God, my God, in my sicknesse. Donne is a very witty poet. In The Flea, like in many other poems, he tries to convince a young woman to sleep with him. He compares giving up her virginity her virginity to the size of a flea go show how "unimportant" it is. "It suck'd me first and now sucks thee" is used in the first stanza to argue that because their bloods are mixed inside the flea, they are married and therefore, making love would not be a sin.

Application of Biotechnology 1

Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bioproducts. The concept encompasses a wide range of procedures for modifying living organisms according to human purposes. For thousands of years, humans have used selective breeding to improve production of crops and livestock to use them for food. In selective breeding, organisms with desirable characteristics are mated to produce offspring with the same characteristics. For example, this technique was used with corn to produce the largest and sweetest crops. In the early twentieth century scientists gained a greater understanding of microbiology and explored ways of manufacturing specific products. Biotechnology has also led to the development of antibiotics. In 1928, Alexander Fleming discovered the mold Penicillium. It is use to treat bacterial infections in humans. The first use of biotechnology was used in fermentation. Throughout the use of agriculture, farmers have inadvertently altered the genetics of their crops through introducing them to new environments and breeding them with other plants one of the first forms of biotechnology. Applications Biotechnology has applications in four major industrial areas, including health care (medical), crop production and agriculture, non food (industrial) uses of crops and other products (e. g. biodegradable plastics, vegetable oil, biofuels), and environmental uses. Biotechnology is also used to recycle, treat waste, clean up sites contaminated by industrial activities (bioremediation), and also to produce biological weapons. 1. Medicine a. Genetic testing: Genetic testing involves the direct examination of the DNA molecule itself. A scientist scans a patient's DNA sample for mutated sequences. The tests can detect mutations associated with rare genetic disorders like cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, and Huntington's disease. Gene tests may not detect every mutation associated with a particular condition because many are as yet undiscovered Gene testing is used for: 1. Determining sex; 2. Forensic/identity testing; 3. Newborn screening; 4. Prenatal diagnostic screening. b. Human Genome Project: The Human Genome Project is an initiative of the U. S. Department of Energy. It has helped us to determine the exact chemical sequence that constitutes the DNA in every cell of a human body. It has the following advantages: 1. Doctors could drip droplets of our genes into a biochip to figure out if we have cancer that could kill or a disease that would respond to a particular drug. 2. Scientists could analyse selective genes from parents and could design babies before conception. c. Cloning: Cloning in biology is the process of producing similar populations of genetically identical individuals that occurs in nature when organisms such as bacteria, insects or plants reproduce asexually. It involves the removal of the nucleus from one cell and its placement in an unfertilized egg cell whose nucleus has either been deactivated or removed. There are two types of cloning: 1. Reproductive cloning. After a few divisions, the egg cell is placed into a uterus where it is allowed to develop into a fetus that is genetically identical to the donor of the original nucleus. 2. Therapeutic cloning. The egg is placed into a Petri dish where it develops into embryonic stem cells, which have shown potentials for treating several ailments. 2. Agriculture a. Crop yield: Using the techniques of modern biotechnology, one or two genes may be transferred to a highly developed crop variety to impart a new character that would increase its yield. However, while increases in crop yield are the most obvious applications of modern biotechnology in agriculture, it is also the most difficult one. Current genetic engineering techniques work best for effects that are controlled by a single gene. Many of the genetic characteristics associated with yield (e. g. , enhanced growth) are controlled by a large number of genes, each of which has a minimal effect on the overall yield. There is, therefore, much scientific work to be done in this area. b. Reduced vulnerability of crops to environmental stresses: Crops containing genes that will enable them to withstand biotic and abiotic stresses may be developed. For example, drought and excessively salty soil are two important limiting factors in crop productivity. Researchers have also created transgenic rice plants that are resistant to rice yellow mottle virus (RYMV). In Africa, this virus destroys majority of the rice crops and makes the surviving plants more susceptible to fungal infections. . Reduced dependence on fertilizers, pesticides and other agrochemicals: Most of the current commercial applications of modern biotechnology in agriculture are on reducing the dependence of farmers on agrochemicals. For example, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a soil bacterium that produces a protein with insecticidal qualities. Crops have also been genetically engineered to acquire tolerance to broad-spectrum herbicide. M ultiple applications of numerous herbicides were routinely used to control a wide range of weed species detrimental to agronomic crops. 3. Bioremediation and biodegradation Biotechnology is being used to engineer and adapt organisms especially microorganisms in an effort to find sustainable ways to clean up contaminated environments. The elimination of a wide range of pollutants and wastes from the environment is an absolute requirement to promote a sustainable development of our society with low environmental impact. Biological processes play a major role in the removal of contaminants and biotechnology is taking advantage of the astonishing catabolic versatility of microorganisms to degrade/convert such compounds. Marine environments are especially vulnerable since oil spills of coastal regions and the open sea are poorly containable and mitigation is difficult. In addition to pollution through human activities, millions of tons of petroleum enter the marine environment every year from natural seepages. Despite its toxicity, a considerable fraction of petroleum oil entering marine systems is eliminated by the hydrocarbon-degrading activities of microbial communities.

Children And Self-Esteem Issues - Free Essay Example

Sample details Pages: 4 Words: 1064 Downloads: 3 Date added: 2019/08/02 Category Sociology Essay Level High school Tags: Self Esteem Essay Did you like this example? Self-esteem is a persons awareness of their own worth. Self-esteem is a basic element in the personal formation of children. Their development in learning, in good relationships, in activities, and why not say it, in the construction of happiness will depend on their degree of self-esteem. Don’t waste time! Our writers will create an original "Children And Self-Esteem Issues" essay for you Create order Self-esteem influences the ability of children to face new challenges, develop different skills and be more self-sufficient. The role of adults in the self-esteem of children is fundamental, but even more so is the figure of their parents, since children perceive the fears and insecurities of their parents and make them their own with great ease. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind to be attentive to their emotions, how to make them always accept their appearances, and of course, values. Emotions are the main thing for the initiative of self-esteem. It is important to give them lots of love (hugs and kisses). The self-esteem of a child flourishes when he/she accepts it as it is, no matter what his strengths, difficulties, temperament or skill are. A research of Strauss, (2000) says, Decreasing levels of self-esteem in obese children were associated with significantly increased rates of sadness, loneliness, and nervousness compared with obese children whose self-esteem increased or remained unchanged. In addition, obese children with decreasing levels of self-esteem over the 4-year period were more likely to smoke and drink alcohol compared with obese children whose self-esteem increased or remained unchanged. That is why the phrases of praise and gratitude, and the messages of hope, confidence, pride and forgiveness are important to strengthen their personal worth. Expressions of encouragement should serve to give encouragement and courage, in addition to recognizing the effort the child has made. A child with good self-esteem can experience its positive effects: confidence, encouragement , interest and the pleasure of learning and making dreams come true. It needs to be built and built since the child is just a baby. Cordell (1999) says, Self-esteem enables children to have positive, gratifying experiences. Even experiences that others might interpret as failure, those with high self-esteem see as learning opportunities. Thats why the child should feel loved and embraced for what he/she is. The child who does not feel that he/she is valued by their parents can develop the fear of being abandoned. The same should be done, for example, when the child, at school, is labeled as the bad guy, the impertinent, and the only thing that the classmates and students do is to leave him aside, discriminate against him, making him feel marginalized and rejected. This position will not help at all, creating a low self-esteem in the child that, in a short time, may lead to school failure. Help them feel comfortable with their emotions by defining or naming what they feel. Say: I understand that youre sad because we have to leave the park. If you accept their emotions without judging him, you reaffirm their feelings and show them that what they says is important. On the other hand, there are parents who believe that their children are happy doing the things that parents want them to do. For example, parents who have prodigies, according to G. D.s (2018, February) article says, As parents, we are prone to tell our children at every critical juncture in their lives that, no matter what, we just want you to be happy. It should come as no surprise that kids are not always persuaded by sentiment. Consider children who show a remarkable affinity for music, chess, or athletics. What if they insist that practicing for 10 hours a day is what makes them happy, despite their parents belief that they should go out and play? And what if, years later, they wake up and decide that from here on out, theyd be happier leaving those talents aside to go out and play after all? Prodigies may be grateful for parents who allowed them to pursue their passions, but may also come to resent their parents neglected their holistic growth. Thats why it is important for any child no matter how they are, always support them in what they like to do. Teaching values to a child goes far beyond teaching good manners and his first notions about the world. It is also important to educate them in values from an early age so that, as they grow up, they become happier people and are able to insert themselves properly in society. Obviously, it is a complicated task that requires effort and patience. Thus, self-esteem is very well formed. In addition, it is important to teach the child to solve their own problems and learn from their mistakes and faults, in a positive way. For example, if the child does not achieve a good grade in a school subject, encourage him or her to study more and prepare to excel in the next test. The parent will not blame him for anything. The child must feel that a mistake can be turned into an apprenticeship and, consequently, that he can fix it if he uses more effort. Leave aside criticism that nothing builds. Insults will not favor the childs self-esteem. Instead, for example, to say you are a mess, you have y our room as a garbage, better to say I do not like to see your room so messy, it makes me very sad. Thus, the parent will be showing that what he dislike is the disorder of the room, not the child. Improving self-esteem may help to prevent the development of psychological and behavioral problems which are common in children. Strong evidence exists for the benefits of exercise on physical health, but evidence for the effects of exercise on mental health is scarce. Exercising has positive short term effects on self-esteem in children and young people, and concludes that exercise may be an important measure in improving childrens self-esteem (Ekeland et al., 2004). Having an adequate self-esteem is fundamental for the development of any child. In fact, a good self-esteem not only improves the emotional state of the child but also their social relationships and enhances their cognitive development. Having a child is a privilege and each parent wants the best for him / her. However, we must realize that the boy-girl are very delicate creatures and the father has to be careful in every a ction and verb they do because the children reflect what the parents do.
